About MEI Introduction
MEI was launched in 1971 by the late Christopher Mayhew and Claude Morris. Chairman of the board is Sir Dennis Walters, a former British Member of Parliament; the vice-chairman is Sir James Craig, former ambassador to Syria and Saudi Arabia and professor at Oxford University. Other board members include Sir Alan Munro, former ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and Brian Constant, banker and director-general of the Middle East Association. MEI is edited by Steve Sherman, who took over from Michael Wall in 1996. Other former editors include Michael Adams, a well-known writer and broadcaster on the Middle East, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Middle East International magazine, which is based in London and also published in the US, comes out 25 times a year, with each edition running to 32-36 pages. |
